AFL-CIO to Spend $40 million to mobilize voters
The story is in the LA Times. The AFL-CIO plans to spend a record $40 million in an attempt to unseat Republicans in this year's congressional elections, the labor federation's president said Monday. I don't know about you, but that number sounded big for all of about three seconds. Until I remembered that California unions alone spent $100 million just the the special election last year. Still, it is a substantial investment in voter mobilization. |
