So Much for a Strong 4th Quarter...
The cost of electricity in Northern California looks to spike this winter--now by more than the 40 percent PG&E predicted just a few short weeks ago: Pacific Gas and Electric Co. warned Friday that Northern California home heating bills would leap 70.8 percent in October as hurricanes Katrina and Rita drive up natural gas prices nationwide. That, according to a report in today's SF Chronicle. Not surprisingly any increased costs in supply are expected to be immediately passed on to consumers. |
