How unMcCain
At least that's what the California Democratic Party is saying about Arizona Sen. John McCain's March 20th fundraiser for Gov. Schwarzenegger. The complaint stems from a large donor fundraising event with Sen. McCain on behalf of Gov. Schwarzenegger scheduled for March 20, 2006 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, where platinum sponsorships go for $100,000. The state party filed the complaint with the FEC today alleging that McCain violates his own federal campaign finance law that "restricts federal officeholders from taking part in such political fundraisers," according to the release. “We do not take comfort in having to file a complaint against a sitting U.S. Senator, but no one be should be above the law,” said California Democratic Party Chairman Art Torres.
